Face-swapping itself is legal in most jurisdictions, but the use of the result is what determines legality. You must own or have permission to use every photo, video, and likeness in the render, and the result cannot be used for fraud, defamation, non-consensual intimate imagery, or to impersonate someone for endorsement. Yes — Standin's paid tier (from $9) removes the watermark. The free trial render is intentionally watermarked so the output can't be mistaken for a real photo or video of the person in the render. That's a trust feature, not a teaser trick.
Standin keeps uploads and rendered outputs only as long as needed to deliver your render, provide support, and prevent abuse, then deletes them. You can request access to or deletion of your data at any time — see the Privacy Policy for the deletion flow.
Only if the underlying footage and everyone's likeness rights allow it. You are responsible for how the result is used. For commercial use, make sure you have explicit rights to the source video, the face in the render, and any music or trademarked content visible in the output.
No. You can only upload images and footage you own or have permission to use. No minors, no using someone else's face without their consent, and no impersonation for fraud. Every upload passes an automated safety check before a render starts.
If a paid render fails for a technical reason, tap /render to try again or message @standinmebot and a human will sort it out — see our refund terms.
Message @standinmebot with a link to the render and what the issue is. Reports are acknowledged within 24 hours, investigated, and — if substantiated — the render is removed and the account is suspended within 72 hours.
