How the math compares

If you do one face-swap every couple of weeks, pay-per-clip is the cheaper shape. If you do one a day, a subscription might pencil out — but at that volume you should also be looking at batch / API options, which we don't currently expose.

Here's the rough comparison vs. the most common alternatives:

• Standin: $0 first render, $9 per paid render, no subscription. ~2 minute turnaround.
• Reface Pro: ~$30/month subscription, daily swap limits apply. Library of thousands of templates.
• FacePlay: weekly or monthly subscription, billed through the app stores. Mobile-first.
• DeepSwap: credit-based, ~$20 for 20 credits. Web-based.

If you only do a swap every few weeks, the math favors Standin by a lot — a $9 render vs. $30/month whether you use it or not. If you do a swap a day, the Reface subscription is comparable on per-render cost (and you get the template library too).

How payment works in the chat

1. Open @standinmebot in Telegram and tap Start.
2. Pick a scene, send a selfie, and when the render is ready, the bot offers a paid upgrade.
3. Choose card or crypto. For card, tap the Stripe checkout link, pay, return to the bot. For crypto, copy the wallet address, send, wait for confirmation.
4. The bot delivers the no-watermark, higher-resolution render in the chat. About 2 minutes from payment to video.

What the watermark is and isn't

The free render carries a small Standin watermark in the corner. This is a trust feature, not a paywall trick — the watermark makes the clip clearly identifiable as a face-swap, which protects the people in it from being impersonated. The full reasoning is on the Trust & Safety page.

The paid render removes the watermark because the user has chosen to upgrade. The output is yours to use however you want, subject to the standard rights caveats in the Terms.

Refund policy (short version)

• Failed renders: redone at no charge. If we can't deliver, the payment is refunded.
• Safety refusals: if your input trips the safety gate (minor detected, NSFW, hash match), the render is refused before the payment is taken. If the gate fires after the payment is taken but before the render starts, the payment is refunded.
• Other issues: message @standinmebot in Telegram. A human reads those. Most issues resolve in a single message.
